Provided by AGPReports said the data was discussed during a session of the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, which reviewed how the military has been addressing allegations of sexual misconduct within its ranks.
According to the figures, the military’s Yahalom unit received 2,420 complaints linked to sexual assault and harassment cases during 2025, reflecting an increase of roughly 350 reports compared with the previous year.
The data indicated that more than 700 complaints resulted only in what were described as “command meetings.” Meanwhile, 42 indictments were reportedly filed against suspects, while 21 additional individuals faced disciplinary action rather than criminal prosecution.
Reports also stated that the military banned 60 civilian contractors from entering army facilities following related allegations.
The Israeli military reportedly acknowledged the growing number of complaints concerning sexual misconduct cases.
Merav Ben-Ari, an opposition lawmaker from the Yesh Atid party who initiated the parliamentary discussion, described the figures as deeply troubling.
“The data I received is extremely worrying, especially in light of the significant increase in complaints related to sexual harassment,” she said.
“The Israeli army must use all available means to reduce this phenomenon, prevent it as much as possible, and support victims throughout their military service,” she added.
According to the report, only around 10% of the complaints were pursued through criminal investigations handled by the Interior Ministry and police authorities.
